Stone Origin: Somerset Limestone
Typical Aesthetics: Warm honey

Description: Bath Stone is a limestone comprising granular fragments of calcium carbonate. Its warm, honey colouring gives the World Heritage City of Bath, England its distinctive appearance.

Portland Stone
Stone Origin: Dorset Limestone

Description: Portland stone is a limestone quarried on the Isle of Portland, Dorset. It has been used extensively as a building stone including major public buildings such as St Paul's Cathedral and Buckingham Palace.

Description: Yorkstone is a variety of sandstone, specifically from quarries in Yorkshire and is popular in both new construction and restoration. The colour of Yorkstone depends on the minerals within its makeup and differs throughout the quarries from which it is mined.

Purbeck Stone
Stone Origin: Dorset Limestone
Typical Aesthetics: Grey tones
Typical Texture: Medium Grained
Description: Purbeck stone is taken from a series of limestone beds found on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. The best known variety of this stone is Purbeck Marble. The stone has been quarried since at least Roman times up to the present day.

Darney Sandstone
Stone Origin: Northumberland sandstone
Typical Aesthetics: Pale Gold
Typical Texture: Fine to medium grained
Description: Darney sandstone is a fine to medium grained pale gold through, light buff to almost blonde in colour. The Stone is extracted from Darney quarry, located at East Woodburn, Hexham Northumberland.

Swinton Sandstone
Stone Origin: Berwickshire Sandstone
Typical Aesthetics: Buff / green / grey
Typical Texture: Medium grained
Description: Quarried near Swinton in The Scottish Borders and formerly known as ‘Whitsome Newton’, the stone is most famously known for its use in the Hall of Honour, Edinburgh Castle

Hazeldean Sandstone
Stone Origin: Northumberland Sandstone

Description: Hazeldean sandstone is quarried near Alnwick in Northumberland, England. Hazeldean Sandstone is both visually and geologically a good match for the no longer available Craigleith Sandstone of Edinburgh.
